Till 28th June, collectors are going to have the opportunity to acquire Picasso Ceramics on Christie’s online auction.
For the last couple of years, the demand for Picasso Ceramics grow synchronously with the market. Besides experienced collectors, new buyers are also interested in the auctions.
Picasso, one of the most important figure of 20th century, Spanish artist, started ceramic works at the end of 1940’s. The bright colors in his ceramics are related to Mediterranean, as he spent all the summers in Cote d’Azur. In 1947, he went to a ceramic exhibition in Vallauris, east of Cannes, and the Madaura pieces took his attention. He really impressed with the quality of the works. That’s how he started collaborating with Madoura factory.
